Brieana Robinson (CSU East Bay Department of Social Work ‘21)

2019-2020 Social Work and Education Defense & Justice for Youth Clinical Student

Brieana instinctively understood what it meant to meet her young clients “where they were at,” thinking creatively about ways to connect with them and help them work towards both their legal and social work goals. This meant that Brieana was often out in the field, whether it was meeting one of her clients at her high school and taking her to share a meal, riding around with another young client as she helped him to link with the services and supports he needed, or meeting up with a client’s mother at a park to help her through a moment of crisis. Brieana’s clients knew that she was in their corner, and that she was skilled at helping them navigate through systems of oppression.
