Christina Romak (Berkeley Law ’21)

Spring 2020 Clean Slate Clinical Student

Christina (Tina) worked in Record Remedies during the stressful transition from meeting clients at our in-person clinics to the physically distant virtual world of Clean Slate. She appeared in virtual court on behalf of clients seeking dismissals, and her arguments in support of these petitions helped the judge see that the clients are so much more than just their criminal history. Tina also worked with a client to craft a declaration that convinced a judge that our client was factually innocent of a crime for which he was arrested. The sealing of that arrest allowed the client to return to his former position providing essential translation services for our government. Tina always made sure that our clients got the same level of care, service, and advocacy whether in person or during our remote work period.
