Brigitte Nicoletti (Berkeley Law ’20/EBCLC)

Fall 2018, Spring 2019, and Fall 2019 Clean Slate Clinical Student

Brigitte spent three semesters handling the toughest projects we had to offer. She untangled a complicated and disorganized application for a Certificate of Rehabilitation for a client who wanted to use her lived experience to counsel others who were caught up in the criminal justice system. She also successfully navigated the California Medical Board and the bureaucracy of a foreign country to obtain the US license of a man who was originally denied licensing due to a wrongful arrest. He has his license now due to her tireless advocacy and her unwillingness to take no for an answer from an uncaring system. The client was hopeless and despondent, and Brigitte supported him and provided effective resources so that he could navigate his way back to emotional stability.
