Fall 2018 Clean Slate Clinical Student

Caitlin worked on a broad variety of cases during her time here. She untangled a complicated identity theft case. Our client’s brother used our client’s name whenever he got arrested, so that our client was denied several jobs due to the background checks showing his brother’s criminal history. Her work convinced a judge that the convictions were attributed to the wrong brother and now our client will not be denied employment based on erroneous information. She worked on an unusually high number of record remedies cases, from client interview, to obtaining supporting documentation to completing petitions for filing. Her work also significantly contributed to a complicated immigration-based vacatur petition for a DACA recipient.
