Spring 2019 and Fall 2019 Immigration Clinical Student
Pallavi was with the Immigration Clinic for two semesters and it was such a pleasure having her with us. She did a wide variety of assignments while in clinic but her focus was on two affirmative asylum cases. She conduced client interviews, drafted and revised asylum declarations, researched country conditions, prepared work permit renewals, and requested relevant records. Pallavi also prepared an age-out Special Immigrant Juvenile Status case, including the probate guardianship portion of the case. This case was ultimately approved and the client’s green card application is pending. Pallavi also prepared and presented a Know Your Rights training for UC Berkeley students on ICE Enforcement and 4th and 5th Amendment protections. Over the course of two semesters, Pallavi brought her warmth and unique perspective to each case she worked on. She made meaningful connections with clients and staff.
