Elizabeth Cheever (Berkeley Law ’21)

Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 Housing Clinical Student

Elizabeth’s rare blend of brilliance, compassion, and excel wizardry have rendered her a truly outstanding addition to EBCLC’s Housing Team these past two years. She was truly a team player from the start – always volunteering to fight for tenants no matter the context. From advocating to keep an extremely disabled elderly undocumented couple in their long-time home, to negotiating with landlords both in and out of the courtroom, Elizabeth has fought hard for her clients. And when the pandemic hit, and our unit was turned upside down, Elizabeth once again offered to help – this time with a large scale COVID rent relief program for Berkeley tenants. I cannot thank Elizabeth enough for all that she has given to our community, her fellow students, the Housing Unit, and myself. I will miss her terribly (even if she prefers the Colin Firth version of Pride & Prejudice), and I am in denial that she’s graduating. Thank you Elizabeth and congratulations!
