Rianna Hidalgo (Berkeley Law ’21)

Fall 2019 Housing Clinical Student

Rianna has been a champion for tenants’ rights since her 1L year, and she has continued her zealous advocacy throughout her time at the Housing Clinic and beyond. In addition to volunteering at the Tenants’ Rights Workshop and then going on to lead the workshop as a 2L, Rianna compassionately assisted and represented tenants facing eviction. Rianna’s empathy shone through in her interactions with clients. On top of her brilliant advocacy and powerful writing, Rianna’s ability to focus in our noisy cubicle environment was impressive—to the point that one of her fellow students remarked on it! Fortunately for the tenant community, Rianna remains dedicated to housing justice, having proposed a much-needed project to combat Section 8 voucher discrimination. Rianna was a true pleasure to work with, and I am excited to see where her commitment to social justice will take her.
