Spring 2020 Consumer Justice Clinical Student
Savannah brought some of the strongest natural writing and research skills to clinic that we’ve ever seen. With only a minimum of direction and guidance, Savannah juggled over a dozen client cases, drafted comments for federal regulators, helped write a complex white paper that directly lead to a monumental change in statewide home ownership law, and helped create self-help pamphlets to help the public avoid an increasingly common scam. Without Savannah’s efforts, it is likely that low-income homeowners throughout the state would continue to lose their family home because they were unable to pay small credit card bills, or encountered a surprise medical bill that they could not pay. It is no exaggeration to say that Savannah has already made California better, and we look forward to seeing what more she will do in the future.
