Anavictoria joined EBCLC in 2019 to continue her life passions: youth advocacy and public interest law. Prior to joining EBCLC, she was the Outreach Coordinator for the Illinois Coalition for the Fair Sentencing of Children at the Children & Family Justice Center (CFJC) in Chicago. During law school, Anavictoria did five semesters of clinic practice with CFJC, where she gained extensive experience in juvenile justice matters. As a law student, she also interned with the Juvenile Unit of the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office. Her experience covers the multiple facets of juvenile justice advocacy, including education advocacy, disability rights, trial advocacy, post-conviction litigation, expungement, clemency, immigration crossover issues, and grassroots organizing. Anavictoria is a creative at heart, and in her free time she is an artist painting murals or teaching painting classes in the local community.
