Evelina has represented low-income Bay Area tenants since she graduated from Berkeley Law in 2015. While in law school, Evelina interned with East Bay Community Law Center’s Housing Practice, Communities for a Better Environment, Bay Area Legal Aid’s public benefits and housing programs, and Public Advocates’ metro equity team.
Prior to joining EBCLC, Evelina practiced eviction defense as a staff attorney at the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley in San Jose. Evelina has also served tenants with landlord/tenant and fair housing matters while at Project Sentinel, and she initiated an Equal Justice Works (EJW) habitability project at Tenants Together. As an EJW fellow, Evelina launched a tenants’ rights clinic in San Jose, coordinated legal clinics in Concord and Richmond, offered brief legal services and representation to low-income tenants, and collaborated with the Silicon Valley Renters’ Rights Coalition to advocate for stronger tenant protections.
