Iman Shah

Iman is a third-year law student at Berkeley Law (‘22) committed to doing public interest work, particularly providing direct client services to low-income and marginalized communities. They have worked in various capacities with the East Bay Community Law Center, including as a Co-Director of Berkeley Law’s Name and Gender Change Workshop and as a legal intern in the Clean Slate Clinic. Iman also has experience working in housing, affirmative asylum, and public defense at organizations including Manhattan Legal Services, Oasis Legal Services, the Bronx Defenders, and the Transgender, Gender-variant, and Intersex Justice Project. Iman hopes to use his perspective as a volunteer and intern with EBCLC to inform his position as a Student Board Member. They also plan on continuing working in direct client services in New York City after graduating.
