Mindy Phillips joined EBCLC in 2015 as an Equal Justice Works Fellow in the Immigration Clinic to establish school-based immigration clinics in the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD).

This project is in partnership with school-based health centers run by La Clínica de la Raza to provide wrap-around medical and legal services for OUSD’s students and families. Mindy continues to coordinate this project in addition to the clinic’s partnership with local community colleges. During law school, Mindy interned in EBCLC’s Immigration Clinic and at the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California. She was a clinical student in EBCLC’s Policy Advocacy Clinic focused on immigrant detention in California and the International Human Rights Law Clinic focused on LGBT rights in El Salvador. Mindy co-chaired the UC Berkeley Anti-Trafficking Project and also served as the Managing Editor of the La Raza Law Journal.
