Azizah joins EBCLC as a Staff Attorney and Clinical Supervisor for the Health & Welfare Practice. In her role, she will teach, supervise, and mentor law students in their representation of clients with public benefit matters, such as denied, terminated, or reduced public income or health benefits.

As a daughter of Southeast Asian refugees, Azizah decided to become a lawyer because of the impacts of deportation in her community. She previously worked in immigration law helping Bay Area residents obtain immigration relief and has spent time at the UNHCR (the UN refugee agency) office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia working with asylum seekers and stateless persons. Azizah also has over a decade’s experience in public policy, with expertise in health and immigration. She has worked with national health advocacy and civil rights organizations, and government agencies to advance legislative and policy measures that address the health of underserved communities. Beyond her professional career, Azizah is an active member of the Cham community, where her activism and commitment to social justice is rooted.
