Highlights from the Justice Awards

November 3, 2018
On November 2nd, 2018, EBCLC celebrated our thirtieth anniversary milestone by honoring the people who strive to advance justice with us every day. Our ED Tirien Steinbach sat down with Dean Erwin Chemerinsky, named the most influential person in legal education by National Jurist Magazine, and Fred Blackwell, CEO of The San Francisco Foundation, for a conversation about the most pressing issues of our time and the ongoing fight to preserve our civil rights. Then, we presented the inaugural Justice Awards to cherished community partners Brendon Woods, Gena Lewis, Purvi Shah, and the Black Organizing Project. Finally, we honored our own Osha Neumann with a Lifetime of Service Award for his many decades of activism, art, and advocacy for homeless community members.
