KellyLou Densmore

As Deputy Director of the Health and Welfare unit, KellyLou advocates for individuals living with HIV, women of color, and people of trans experience so that they may access and maintain public benefits and stable housing. KellyLou also leads the Unit’s Health Policy Program focusing on health equity and the social determinants of health outcomes that impact historically excluded communities in Alameda County.

KellyLou has been a dedicated community organizer working at the intersections of racial and economic justice, heath equity and queer liberation since her teens. Prior to joining EBCLC, she was the Director of the Office of Sexual Harassment Assault Response and Prevention at the San Francisco Human Rights Commission. KellyLou served as Legal Director for Transgender, Gender Variant and Intersex Justice Project (TGIJP) advocating for the human rights and dignity of incarcerated transgender people. She was also the Legal Advocacy Fellow at Justice Now where she represented people in California’s women’s prisons on compassionate release cases, and advocated for incarcerated people around medical care and health needs.
