Alyssa Young

B.A., Philosophy, Politics, & Law; Minors in Spanish and Law & Public Policy University of Southern California (2022)

Alyssa is a first-generation student from South Central Los Angeles whose background includes working in immigration assistance, child welfare representation, and community advocacy. As a student board member Alyssa hopes to use her identity and background to advance EBCLC’s Women of Color Centered Platform and increase the organization’s connection with more Black and Latine students at Berkeley Law.

At Berkeley Law, Alyssa is a Berkeley Law Opportunity Scholar, a Berkeley Law Public Interest Public Service Student Representative, and has served as the Public Interest Social Justice Chair for the Law Students of African Descent (LSAD) and La Alianza. With the goal of working with immigrant youth, Alyssa has also participated in EBCLC’s Immigration clinic where she assisted in asylum applications, naturalizations, DACA renewals, and case development.
