Financial Hardship? No ability-to-pay process. If first appearance, can request a payment plan in person, by mail or by fax. Judge can reduce fees for walk-ins, can request reduction by mail or fax.
Driver’s License Hold/Suspension for Failure to Appear? FTA hold will be removed only when a person makes a full payment. If there is a FTA, or client wishes to remove case from collections, or having civil assessment fee removed, you need to speak to judge at walk-in court M-Thurs 7:30am or write the judge. The court will waive the civil assessment fee in cases of incarceration at the time it went to collections, the person was out of the country due to military leave, or hospitalization.
