Traffic court information
*Sierra County expects to be launching a new website in the near future which will have the Ability to Pay form available. In the meantime, you can ask for the form in court or call the clerk’s office and they’ll mail or email it to you
Traffic Court Phone Number: (530) 289-3698
Financial Hardship? Complete Ability to Pay form and submit it to the clerks. You will need to appear in court for the judge to make an ability to pay determination. If you cannot come to court the judge will typically approve a phone-in hearing.
You can still submit the Ability to Pay form if your ticket is in collections. However, if you just want to get on a payment plan you can go through collections for that.
You can also call the clerk’s office and ask to go before the judge to request to vacate your civil assessment fee. Sierra County is working on a form for this request but it is not yet available
Driver’s License Hold/Suspension for Failure to Appear? Appear in court and the hold will be removed
