Cancion SotoRosen is the Co-Director of the Education, Defense, and Justice for Youth Practice (EDJY) and the Director of the Youth Defender Clinic (YDC) at the East Bay Community Law Center.

In the Youth Defender Clinic, law student interns work on a variety of juvenile legal matters, including juvenile court cases, school expulsion proceedings, and juvenile court record sealing in Alameda County. Prior to joining EBCLC, Cancion worked as a public defender in Alameda County representing both adults and youth. Cancion is a graduate of UC Davis School of Law (King Hall), where she served as an editor on the Journal of Juvenile Justice Law & Policy and was the recipient of the Honorable Robert M. Takasugi Public Interest Law Fellowship and the Public Interest Law Foundation Grant. Cancion is committed to advocating on behalf of the children and families whose lives are impacted by the juvenile legal system. As a clinical supervisor, Cancion is grateful for the opportunity to support law students and new lawyers committed to social justice and public interest law.
