Jevon joined the Community Economic Justice Practice in June 2023. As a South Berkeley resident, Jevon advocates for economic justice through small business development and entrepreneurship. She firmly believes in leveraging private contract negotiation and strategic business ventures to dismantle barriers and expand opportunities for vulnerable communities to realize thriving, dignified lives.

Prior to working at EBCLC, Jevon represented public and private companies in a wide range of transactional matters, including entity formation, capital raising, acquisitions and business restructurings. She provided counsel and advice to nonprofits with respect to commercial contract negotiation and corporate governance matters. Jevon previously worked at the Public Defender’s Office, San Diego County where she represented low-income clients facing misdemeanors.

Jevon graduated from law school in 2016. During law school, Jevon represented low-income students in an affirmative lawsuit to enforce their right to an adequate and equitable public education in Connecticut. At EBCLC, Jevon is inspired to use transactional legal tools to build the power of our communities to challenge and eradicate systems of inequality. Jevon comes from a family of educators, entrepreneurs and small business owners. She was raised in Oakland, California.
